The Google Grand Prix

So the off season is here, there's not much news and there will be no grand prix until March next year. Wrong, because here is the Google Grand Prix! All the drivers from 2010 were entered in to see how many results they would bring up on the worlds most well known search engine. Here's how they all did

(Figures in millions)

1. Lewis Hamilton 10.3
2. Sebastian Vettel 7.06
3. Jenson Button 5.89
4. Fernando Alonso 5.86
5. Robert Kubica 5.54
6. Michael Schumacher 4.87
7. Mark Webber 4.86
8. Rubens Barrichello 3.62
9. Nico Rosberg 3.54
10. Heikki Kovalainen 3.48
11. Jarno Trulli 3.32
12. Felipe Massa 2.71
13. Sebastien Buemi 1.93
14. Nick Heidfeld 1.89
15. Bruno Senna 1.15
16. Timo Glock 0.775
17. Adrian Sutil 0.757
18. Jaime Alguersuari 0.707
19. Pedro de la Rosa 0.689
20. Vitaly Petrov 0.570
21. Kamui Kobayashi 0.533
22. Nico Hulkenberg 0.509

24. Vitantonio Liuzzi 0.487
25. Karun Chandhok 0.355
26. Christian Klien 0.288
27. Sakon Yamamoto 0.197

Lewis Hamilton takes the win by quite a margin. World champion Sebastian Vettel splits the McLaren drivers in second. Michael Schumacher is 6th whilst Heikki Kovalainen wins the battle of the new teams drivers. Sakon Yamamoto is bottom of the pile with less than 200,000 results

  1. A very interesting find :-)

I take it that's worldwide? It would be fascinating to find out how the drivers faired in their own countries. A few that surprise me, Button more popular than Alonso and the fact that Buemi is so high up or Chandok is so far down as he seems to have made a positive impression with the fans this year.

  2. Thanks :)

That is worldwide, as an example Lewis gets 1.16m for the UK results so just over a tenth of his total comes from the UK.
